"Eagles Door Still Open For Enyeama" — Rohr

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that Vincent Enyeama has problems with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

OSC Lille goalkeeper Enyeama quit the Super Eagles in 2015 after a row with former coach Sunday Oliseh.

Rohr has since stated that the door is open for 34-year-old shot-stopper to return to the Super Eagles. Enyeama has over 100 caps for Nigeria.

“The door is open for Vincent Enyeama in the national team,”, Rohr said. “I think he had a problem with the federation, so he wanted someone to call him before coming.

“They called him or they didn’t reach him I don’t know,” the German tactician continued.

“We have three goalkeepers at the moment but we will welcome everybody who will respect our work rate, solidarity and humility.

“And not expect special favours. So the door is opened also to Enyeama.”

"Arsenal Was Interested In Signing Me" - Iheanacho

Arsenal were interested in signing me, says Nigeria star Iheanacho

Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho says he preferred Portuguese giants FC Porto over English side Manchester City.

The 20-year-old striker joined City's Academy from Taye Academy on 10 January 2014 and he has since revealed that his father convinced him to join the English side.

”After the tournament, a few European clubs were interested in signing me: Arsenal, Porto and some others," Iheanacho told Theplayerstribune.com.

"And also, of course, Manchester City. I did not know much about these clubs.

“I thought I would choose Porto, because I knew many African players had success with the club in the past," he continued.

"I didn’t really believe that I could play at City because they had so many incredible players.

"But my father told me that I should choose City because he believed that I could achieve great things there,"he added.

"So I listened to my father."

Lewandowski Doubt To Face Real – Ancelotti

Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted star striker Robert Lewandowski is a doubt for the Champions League clash with Real Madrid after he only trained for 20 minutes on Tuesday because of a bruised shoulder.

Robert Lewandowski Lewandowski has scored 38 goals for Bayern this season, including seven in the Champions League, and is crucial to their chances in Wednesday’s quarter-final first leg at the Allianz Arena. He injured his right shoulder on Saturday when he netted twice in Bayern’s 4-1 thrashing of Borussia Dortmund. Lewandowski said after that game he was confident of facing Real, but his struggles in training on the eve of the match suggest he faces a battle to be ready. “He trained today only for 20 minutes, because he had a problem in his last game. He felt good, but we’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” said Ancelotti in a press conference on Tuesday. “If he has no pain, he will play, if he has pain, he won’t play.” Ancelotti refused to be pressed when asked what the chances are of Lewandowski facing a Real side led by their superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo. “I can’t give a percentage, he trained today and we have to see how he feels,” said the Italian. “He had a good feeling, but I can’t say whether he will feel better or not (tomorrow).”

If Lewandowski drops out, his place is likely to go to Thomas Mueller, who netted twice in the 6-0 drubbing of Augsburg a fortnight ago but has missed the last two games with an ankle injury. “If he (Lewandowski) doesn’t play, it won’t affect our preparations and plans,” said Ancelotti. “We know how important Lewandowski is to us, but we also have other good players.”

Winger Arjen Robben said the team were not nervous about the prospect of losing their star goal-scorer. “The advantage we have is that we have a big team at our disposal, if he doesn’t play — which isn’t sure yet — we have other players who can step in which is why we are calm about it,” insisted Robben, who spent two years at Madrid before joining Bayern in 2009. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be back between the posts after missing the last two games having had minor foot surgery nearly a fortnight ago. “Neuer is fit, he trained well today and he will start the game,” confirmed Ancelotti. But Bayern will definitely be without Germany centre-back Mats Hummels, who injured ankle ligaments in training on Sunday and is doubtful for the return leg on April 18.

In Hummels’ absence, Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez will partner up at centre-back for Bayern, who are bidding to reach the semi-finals for the sixth year in a row.

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has insisted that he is not another version of N’Golo Kante.
Ndidi was brought in by Premier League title-winning coach, Claudio Ranieri, after Leicester City sold Kante to Chelsea last summer.

Ndidi has found his feet quickly in England, with some pundits suggesting he plays a similar role with the France international.

“No, I have never put myself in Kante’s shoes,” Ndidi told Goal.

“I didn’t look to play like him when I arrived. I just came here to play my own game. I just feel like a different player to him.

Michael Essien's Wife Buys Italian Club,Takes Its Full Possession (photos)

Former Chelsea star Michael Essien's wife Akosua Puni Essien has purchased Italian football club Como for £206,000 at auction. The club were in Serie B as recently as last season:

The acquisition does not include the club’s board, training ground or the brand. However, Essien’s purchase at the bankruptcy auction will see the club now known as FC Como.

In a statement on their website, Como suggested that the new owner is "honoured to be part of a club which has 110 years of history."

Como were in the top flight in 2002-03, although three back-to-back relegations plunged the club into a difficult financial position and subsequent bankruptcy. They re-entered the Italian football setup in 2005-06 in Serie D.

After relegation from the second tier last season, Como are pushing for promotion in Serie C1 A and sit eighth in the table.
Their notable former players include Italy’s 1982 FIFA World Cup heroes Paolo Rossi, who made six appearances on loan in 1975-76, and Marco Tardelli, who spent a season at the club before making his move to Juventus in 1976.

The club’s youth setup also produced legendary Azzurri full-back Gianluca Zambrotta, who won the World Cup in 2006 with Italy, and current Lazio and Italy midfielder Marco Parolo.
