Governor Fayose Announces March 8 as public holiday


Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared March 8 as public holiday in Ekiti state.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has declared Wednesday, March 8, 2017 as public holiday for the people of Ekiti state.

The date was declared to honour the women of Ekiti as the world celebrates 2017 International Women's Day.

Fayose made this announcement through his Special Assistant (SA) on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

Olayinka released the statement on Tuesday, March 7 to announce the public holiday.

The statement reads: "Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has declared Wednesday, March 8, 2017 as public holiday in honour of Ekiti women to celebrate this year's International Women's Day."

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the south-west have accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state of causing bigger problems for the party with his controversial utterances.

Fayose had accused the leaders of the party of keeping silent while Ali Modu Sheriff, who he called a mole, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are doing all within their powers to kill the PDP.

Governor Fayose Announces March 8 as public holiday
