After months of grueling heat across the country, respite is finally coming the way of Nigerians as the rains begin to pour heavily across the country but not without a price. It rained (and it's still raining) in some parts of Lagos today and the heavy downpour not only calmed heated nerves but also caused anxiety among many, especially among motorists and commuters along Allen junction -Computer village road, Ikeja.
After few minutes of downpour the busy street was flooded and those returning to their homes after a busy day at work had to grapple with how to walk/cross the flooded street. Many chivalrous men were seen "backing" their ladies to cross the flooded road.
While others had to pull off their shoes and brave it. Many cars were trapped in the puddle causing a thick traffic gridlock. If the cause of the flooding is not identified and fixed, we may have to start using canoe and flying boat to and from work.
